Classic motorcycles, past and future

The bikes you wish you still owned plus the ones you should be collecting now!

Classical Good Looks
Back on that happy day when you first passed your test and got a motorcycle, what did you choose and was it love at first sight? Do you wish you still owned it and what would it be worth now if you still had it? Forget diamonds being forever, how much are beautiful old classic machines worth today, and how much pleasure would they give if you could collect them? Sometimes looking through pictures of old bikes it's easy to think oh no if only I had kept my......Yamaha XT500, BMW 90S, Brough Superior :)? (fill in the blanks yourself )... it would be worth a mint now!

At the time you probably rode your bike into the ground and considered it a workhorse to get you from A to B or you even used it to work on. After a while you may have thought:
...time I traded this one in for a better/newer one...
and suited the action to the word, and perhaps you now wish you could turn back time and change that decision?
Although that old classic may be gone, there are machines being produced today which will one day be the classics of the future, so if you could, which bike would you buy today as an investment for the future? Do you have a current favourite machine which you predict will be a money spinner in the future? Is there one you already own or wish you owned which is in production now which you predict will be a future diamond? How about a Royal Enfield Himalayan, Norton Commando 961, or a GasGas, Husqvarna, KTM, Kawasaki or Yamaha  two stroke - can you see one of these staying the course and rising in value down the line in future years?

Even the new electric machines springing onto the market could be the future IT bikes, for example the Eva Ribelle (RS) 2021, one of those machines which is fresh off the conveyor belt, can you imagine it being a vintage classic in the future?

Not many of us have the luxury of keeping a motorcycle in the garage to accumulate value but if you do, or if you have one or two in there, what have you chosen? Have you been right so far and do you think you're on track?

We'd love to hear about your classic bike predictions or any smart moves you made with buying past motorcycles or any you wish you'd never sold!
