The Glue That Holds Society Together? Or The Opposite?

Just Stop Oil have been upping the ante at Cobham and Clacket Lane services on the M25 by taking disruptive action to draw attention to their cause. Their protest, at the end of April, used various techniques like smashing petrol pump dials with hammers, spraying the displays with orange paint and gluing themselves to the pumps to make sure that their voices were heard. Just Stop Oil is a coalition of climate action groups working together to ensure that the Government commits to halting new fossil fuel licensing and production. They say they will continue taking action until the government states that it will end new oil and gas projects in the UK. It doesn’t feel as though that will be any time soon, so perhaps riders and drivers should prepare for the long haul protest wise.
These protests have been blamed by some of the press for fuel shortages in South East England and the Midlands, causing a negative reaction from the government and some motorists and motorcyclists. Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport, has promised to put a stop to the protests, but he claims that they haven’t caused a fuel distribution problem.
There are two alternative views of this action - some reports are focusing on the disruption to journeys and problems for motorists which the protests are causing - while others who are sympathetic to their aims and Just Stop Oil themselves - are claiming that they are encouraging other people to take action in support of the climate emergency.
What do you think? Do Just Stop Oil have a point and do desperate times call for desperate remedies or is their action annoying you, causing a problem for ordinary people going about their business on their motorcycle and not constructive in your opinion?
