The long wait was over, the TT had returned and what a celebration it was - huge crowds, a great entry and good weather combined to produce a memorable race week.

Peter Hickman continued where he left off in 2019 and proved to be the man to beat. However, he didn’t have it all his own way and Michael Dunlop won both Supersport races. Ben and Tom Birchall continued their class dominance by once again winning both sidecar races but their success was sadly overshadowed by three fatalities during the races.

Wemoto's sponsored riders were represented in every class - TT newcomer and winner of the 2019 Junior and Senior Manx Grand Prix Nathan Harrison 1000 Honda was the standout performer lapping at over 128mph and achieving consistent leader board results of 12th in the Superbike, 11th Superstock and a remarkable 10th in the Senior. To cap it all 24 year old Nathan was announced as the recipient of the People’s Challenger award for the 2022 TT.

Multi TT winner Dave Molyneux and his passenger Daryl Gibson raced to a brace of well earned 4th place finishes with their KTM powered outfit. Dave is a brilliantly talented engineer and has  built an outfit using a standard 890cc engine which he hopes will provide a blueprint for the future of the class. Dave’s aim is to offer affordable, reliable and competitive racing in a class that is currently really struggling for entries. There can be no doubt Dave’s achievements this year will have opened a few eyes as to a sensible way forward for the chairs.

Michael Sweeney enjoyed better fortune than Nathan in both the Supersport races. Michael riding his Yamaha R6 finished 14th and 15th respectively averaging over 120mph compared to Nathan who finished 21st and 17th.In the RST Superstock race Michael managed a best lap of over 125mph and finished 16th and gained a bronze replica. Nathan admitted he was a little disappointed with his 600 Honda rides finding it difficult to transition to the smaller bike.

Long time TT competitor John Barton has announced his retirement from racing on the Mountain Circuit after a career spanning over 30 years. A well deserved win eluded John but he can take away the memories of a number of podium and leaderboard finishes.Unfortunately a tiny electrical issue denied John a finish on the last lap of the Lightweight race.

A final mention must go to Marcus Simpson who competed as a newcomer in the PreTT Classic Races on the Billown Circuit. Riding Rupert Murden’s Wemoto entered Ducati F1 750 Marcus rode superbly to finish third and a well earned bottle of bubbly!
