Vintage Rides From VMCC garage
The VMCC are offering free loans of classic and vintage bikes to VMCC members
Yamaha Passola
The Vintage Motorcycle Club
(VMCC), as reported by the
BMF, has come across with a great little offer to its members and is letting people borrow a whole range of classic and vintage motorcycles. It's currently £42 for a year's membership, and all you need to join is a motorcycle licence, you don't even have to own a bike and as a member you could try out one of the VMCC's extensive bike collection!
The VMCC's Chair, Mario Costa-Sa said about this offer:
“We want as many people as possible to experience what it’s like to ride an older motorcycle and this is the way to do it. There are some restrictions on some of the older bikes, and members are responsible for the machines in their care, but they will be covered by the VMCC’s own insurance.”
BSA A50
There is a range of over 30 bikes in the VMCC garage, including flat tank bikes from the 1920s with hand gear changes, a Matchless 350, a BSA A50 all the way from 1963, some Japanese classics from the 1980s and even a weeny Mobylette and a Yamaha Passola - do they qualify as cult classics now? There are 125s from Suzuki, Honda and CZ so there's something for everyone to try even if they just have a CBT.
It's a really generous offer from the VMCC and gives people a chance to have a go and get a feel for one of these classic machines without the hassle of buying one of their own with the associated maintenance and cost implications.
